Strange things are happening at the Comex. Once a powerhouse for gold and silver, now only a shadow of existence. The gold vaults are running empty for a while with a major bang yesterday. Even silver is fleeing Comex vaults like a rabbit from a bear. In 2008 Comex stored more than 5 million ounces gold in its Registered Gold inventories. But the trend has been lower for years with a cliff-like decline at the beginning of 2013 when gold crashed $500 in a few weeks. Comex Registered Gold inventory But yesterday Registered Gold inventories crashed again … 73% in one day! A stunning 201,345 ounces (73%) of the total 275,325 ounces of Regist...

Introduction China: every day, the media reports unquieting news. We hear that China is in recession, pulling down all other emerging countries with it, stock markets crashing, currency manipulations, et al. Some fact checking is in order. There are concerns about the accuracy of China government data. For that reason, I have supplemented data from the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics with data collected by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and FocusEconomics. The latter derives much of its data (consensus forecasts) from private banks and other financial entities that report regularly on China. China â€...

Harley-Davidson Inc. (HOG – Analyst Report) is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of heavyweight motorcycles and related products and merchandise. The company is expanding its product portfolio to increase its customer base. Operating income of the Financial Services segment has also started improving after declines in 2013 and 2014. However, lower shipments and unfavorable foreign currency exchange resulted in a fall in consolidated revenues in the first nine months of 2015. An aging customer base and an expensive product range are also headwinds for the company. Estimate Trend & Surprise History Investors should not...
On March 29th, 2015 I Know First published an article on Seeking Alpha examining why Xilinx was a great stock to invest in. Despite falling stock prices, the company had strong products and financial health as well as a strong bullish algorithmic signal. The decreasing trend of the stock, it was argued, should not deter investors, especially because the company had just increased its dividend for the 10th year in a row. Investors have seen an amazing 20.29% increase since this bullish forecast was published. As we explained in the last post, Xilinx (XLNX) is the world´s largest fabless semiconductor company founded in Silicon Valley in...
In my interview with Reuters for their lead stocks story of the day before the markets opened this morning, I discussed with them my views on the markets, what investors and traders will be keeping an eye on today and tomorrow, and the markets’ reaction to yesterday’s Fed statement, describing yesterday’s selloff as a “knee-jerk reaction”. I also mentioned to them that the dust should settle today and that we should be seeing the markets turn back green. You can read that story on the Reuters website here. What you need to keep in mind about 2016 is that it will be one of the most difficult years for investors a...
Oil can’t seem to get a break. After falling just below $27 last week, oil finally rallied back to $32 before falling back to just under $31 on Tuesday. An oversold bounce was naturally due, with perhaps a bit more to come. But the oil market’s doing exactly what I said it would – cratering! Meanwhile, in la-la land, stocks have been so focused on the decline in oil prices that they just ignored the other big trigger for a stock decline. And that came yesterday, when the Shanghai Composite index of Chinese stocks moved 3% below its August low of 2,850! I wrote back in June of last year that the bubble in Chinese stocks looked ready ...
