Apple Inc. (NSDQ:AAPL) stock is up by 30% since its May lows. However, this hasn’t been a dampener on how Wall Street views the stock. Analysts on Wall Street continue to be optimistic on Apple stock, as highlighted in our recent Apple post. The flurry of upgrades and bullish notes continued on Wall street as analysts from Stifel and Deutsche bank upped their iPhone estimates going into Apple Q3 earnings. Separately, noted Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo raised iPhone 7 sales expectations citing Samsung’s Note 7 fiasco. Should investors buy into the growing optimism around Apple stock, especially given the huge rally the stock has u...
Certain commodities tend to fly under the radar for periods of time. For example, it was only in the last couple of years that markets have been able to digest the potential impact of the electric vehicle boom, and what it may mean for raw materials. The lithium, graphite, and cobalt prices reacted accordingly, and suddenly these essential ingredients for lithium-ion batteries were hot commodities. Another one of those metals that comes and goes is zinc – and after shooting up in price over 35% this year, it definitely has the attention of many investors and speculators again. RE-THINKING ZINC Today’s infographic comes to us from Pistol...

In the latest Fund Managers’ Survey release by Bank of America this week, there was an overarching agreement on what Wall Street’s “smart money” believes will be the biggest drive of equity prices in the next 6 months. The answer, as shown in the chart below, is Treasury Bond Yields… … and not just any bond yields, but – as per the Fed model which has reigned supreme in recent years – rising bond yields, which suggests that as a result of a rising risk premium, stock prices would slide And in a time when even central bankers are increasingly agitating for a “gentle” increase in l...
Crude Oil has traded at the highest level in 15-months on the third-largest inventory draw in 2016. Over the last seven weeks, crude inventories have shown a draw six times by more than 26 million barrels in aggregate according to Bloomberg. The impressive inventory draw was likely encouraged by reports out of Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Al-Falih, their Minister of Energy & Industry who said the division of production cuts would be fair and equitable for countries, and that many nations including Russia will join in supply cuts. Gold prices continue to benefit from a weaker-USD after New Home Starts missed on Wednesday morning. The two-week...
This is the place where I sometimes toot about some of the good trades that I have made and presented to NFTRH subscribers. It is also the place where we stay honest and publicly admit some of the lousy trades I’ve made. Then there are the likes of the Intel trades, which have been mostly good since the original highlight a couple years ago. But the most recent highlight reaffirming the technical target of 40 and adding a shot at 45? Ah, not so much Gah… So I am selling a partial position to take a tax loss (on some shares I added) and holding the rest for now, at around breakeven. Intel has reversed some previous guidance and is ...
There are those who believe that the Chinese economy has stabilized, as if that was a good thing. Many of these people, mostly economists, said and declared much the same after 2012. That China’s economy might be in 2016 merely as bad as it was in 2015 is a highly negative development, one which requires standards for economic judgment to be still further reduced, starting with “stimulus.” The latest data from across the Pacific shows that nothing has changed, save one factor. Industrial Production grew by just 6.1% in September, down slightly but not really from the 6.3% in August. IP has been at or below 6.3% in all but two of the 19 ...
